To Etta

I saw a kangaroo across the road from my house. It was just standing there and then it bounced off. I think it was eating it's breakfast first thing in the morning. It was brown and grey.

When Farmer Mick came to school he brought a pig, a horse, an alpaca, some sheep, chicks, a rooster, a hen, baby goats, some lambs, geese, ducks. The hen and rooster had 4 claws on their feet for scratching and the geese and ducks had webbed feet for swimming. I really enjoyed it.

From Miles Age 5

Dear Etta

When the farm came with Farmer Mick to our school we saw a horse, sheep, goats, piglets, an alpaca, geese, chicks, some ducks and ducklings, and a sheepdog named Gypsy. We got to pat them and hold the baby chicks and we learnt to be very careful when holding them and to make a little house out of our hands.

To Etta

We had a farm come to our school on Wednesday. There was a hen and a horse, a sheep and some little chicks that I got to hold. That was my favorite part. There were little lambs that we got to pat and look at. We even got to help feed them!

From Brigette Age 5

Dear Etta

I saw some kangaroos hopping down the road into the bushes near my house. They were grey kangaroos and there were 5 of them. We drove past them on the way home.

Kangaroos normally come on my front lawn! They come when the sunrises and we see them at night time too. There are normally 2 of them. They are grey kangaroos.

To Etta

When I went to the zoo I saw a koala and it was eating some gum leaves. I saw a sign that said to be careful of the animals. Koalas are marsupials and thier babies are called joeys. They sleep in the day time.

Amber Age 5

Dear Etta

Kangaroos hop and the daddy kangaroos have their paws at the front. The mummy has a pouch for the baby called a joey. We are going to the zoo this term and I hope to see the lizards especially the blue tongue lizards and some elephants. I think we might see some leopards and tigers. I think I might see some frogs that are green. I hope to see a koala like you!

We made some koalas in our class at school like you. We have two bugies in our class called Sparkles and Tweety. They sing sometimes.

To Etta

I have some rabbits that come and hop on my front lawn and they come in my house for food. I open the door for them and dad feeds them. They are black and their ears are white.

From Hamish Age 5

To Etta

Our school had the farm come last week and we saw little baby chicks, an alpaca, a horse and some lambs and a sheep. We also saw a goose, and some ducks with their babies.

I really enjoyed patting the animals the most!

Love Natalya Age 5

Dear Etta

Kangaroos hop and they are marsupials and when their babies are first born they are the size of a jelly beans. Koalas are marsupials too, they eat gum leaves. Some gum leaves are poisonous but the koalas know which ones are not. They have to be careful if they are on the ground because they could be eaten by dogs.

Koalas wee on their trees so other koalas don't come on their tree. Its bad that trees get cut down that they they live in. Possums scrape trees and the bark falls down off them and they get thier food from the sap. Possums babies are blind they climb on their back of thier mummies.

From Harrison Age 5

South Halls Head Primary School

Dear Etta

here are wallabies in Australia and there are heaps of snakes and lizards in Australia too. My favorite animal is the crocodile and there are lots of kind ones in the water. There are lots of white and pink cockatoos.

I think koalas are the kindest things on Earth!

Love Cayden xxoo Age 5

Dear Etta

at school we are learning about Australia. I know that there are eagles, tasmanian devils and koalas and kangaroos. There a few kangaroos that go into my front garden and they look for bugs and leaves to eat. They are brown kangaroos. They come on my news day which is Friday.

To Etta

Langaroos can jump, they can eat and drink. I saw lots of them at my brothers and they were eating and looking at me. Then they hopped accross the road. They were grey ones. Koalas are grey and have white tummies. When Farmer Mick came to school last week we got to see a horse, baby chickens, we got to hold them and one pooped on me! We also saw a sheep, goats, ducks and geese.

A while ago I went to the zoo and I saw dingoes, they were walking around sniffing. I also saw monkeys swinging around the trees, they were brown and black. I saw some lions I was a bit scared because they came right up to the glass and roared! I went into the nocturnal house and I saw some animals that come out at night time, spiders, some white and brown snakes, and I saw some turtles too.
